Grip
The Grip project is a reasonably priced custom prosthetic hand designed to enable children with upper limb amputations to actively participate in school sports and arts activities. By using a 3D printing-based manual mechanism instead of an electronic control system, it addresses the cost burden of expensive prosthetics and the frequent need for replacements. Based on research into grasping movements during activities, it maximises operational stability by combining flexible TPU fingers, a wrist dial, a string tensioning system, and a silicone grip. This supports growing children in participating more smoothly in a variety of activities.
This project explores an affordable and functional prosthetic arm for children with limb differences. With nearly all components designed for 3D printing, the prosthesis minimizes production costs while maintaining practical usability and ease of fabrication.
